Who really lives in our heads? A crazy person, a rational person, an impulsive person, a prudent person? Or maybe our minds are really crowded? Genovese describes the story of Lara and Piero's first date, looking deep into the minds of his characters. He shows fears, uncertainties and desires. He discovers the mysterious mechanisms that are responsible for our actions. Different personalities have their own voices and their own reasons. They discuss, argue, get emotional, and each of them wants their decision to be final. But what if none of them is right?

The Second Act
The second act of the film "Second Act" takes place in a restaurant called Second Act. Isn't that enough? Quentin Dupieux's latest project, which opened the last Cannes festival, is an attempt to answer questions about the impact of artificial intelligence on the art of film. And the dangers of cancel culture. All this with an all-star cast: Léa Seydoux, Louis Garrel, Vincent Lindon and Raphaël Quenard. Could AI film something like this? Maybe. Would it do it better than Dupieux? Certainly not!

A Flower of Mine
"The Flower of Eight Mountains" is a look at people who live far from the hustle and bustle of the valleys, around the vast Monte Rosa mountain in the Alps. It all began with a drought that hit the town of Estoul, located at an altitude of 1,700 meters above sea level. However, this is not a film about how to save the mountains, but about how the mountains can save us. The director hikes them with his faithful dog Laki. In the shelters, he talks to people who have chosen a life at high altitude. The atmosphere of these places is created by the melancholy of the approaching autumn and a feeling of loneliness in the face of the unforgiving mountain landscape. Marta Squinobal runs the only vegan shelter in the entire Alps. She works with Sherpa Sete Tamang and welcomes those who want to look anew within themselves here – at an altitude of 3,855 meters above sea level. Even here, no one speaks openly about the changes that are coming. The beauty of the Alps is unspoiled by mass tourism. The history Cognetti presents unfolds before us in silence.

The Life of Chuck
On the brink of the end of the world, Marty and Felicia try to rebuild their relationship and discover the identity of the mysterious Chuck Krantz, whose smiling face they see on ubiquitous billboards. Is his fate somehow intertwined with theirs, and what connection does it have to the impending catastrophe?

We experience Chuck's story from the end, as, facing the inevitable, he searches his memory for the moments and events that gave his life true meaning. These are things familiar to each of us, the simplest, some might say even banal, yet the most wonderful. The love of loved ones, youthful dreams, moments of wild fun, friendships, passions, and small victories achieved in the daily struggle against fate. Each of us has our own little universe, lasting as long as our own lives, but its reflections persist in the universes of others.

Picnic at Hanging Rock
The year is 1900. On Valentine's Day, a group of students from an elite Victorian boarding school, accompanied by their teachers, set off on a trip to Hanging Rock, a volcanic formation located in the heart of the Australian bush. There, under a shimmering sky, something unexplained happens - time blurs, space warps, and nature begins to affect the bodies and minds of the young women. Is this an ancient ritual? A collective hallucination? Or, as Edgar Allan Poe wrote, "What we see and seem is a dream we dream in another dream"? One thing is certain: from now on, nothing will be the same.

Down by Law
Down by Law is a film about cheap whiskey and black coffee, all-night drinking and lost jobs, and how nice girls can turn your life into a nightmare. The film tells the story of a pimp, an unemployed disc jockey, and a disoriented Italian tourist who escape from prison together and wander the backstreets of Louisiana looking for a decent place to eat breakfast. It's like a collage made of objects from old gangster movies, blues songs, and prison stories.

The Doll (ENG SUB) | Has. Chronicles Of The Imagination
The film is not a faithful adaptation of one of the most outstanding novels in Polish literature, but is a free creation based on its themes. The director emphasizes Wokulski's personal drama, inscribed in the social mosaic of Warsaw at the end of the 19th century. Wokulski's character is characterized by an internal conflict caused by unrequited love for Izabela Łęcka, and his misfortune is his overly romantic attitude and the helplessness of a loner lost in a snobbish, grotesque society, whose life Has paints in truly turpist images.

Write and Fight (ENG SUB) | Has. Chronicles Of The Imagination
Rafał, publisher and editor of the satirical magazine "Diabeł", is arrested and imprisoned in the same cell with the famous safecracker Szpicbródka and the monk Sixtus, accused of murder. World War I is raging, but the world of prison is a closed enclave, where the writer, detached from everyday life, conducts discussions with himself about literature and art. The idea of a novel, inspired by observations of prison life, matures in him. He himself does not know the reasons for his own arrest, and the information obtained during the first interrogation is not clear: authorship of filthy articles, an insult to morality. It is only in the next conversation with the investigator that he learns about the pistol found in his apartment, with which two people were shot in a terrorist attack. Despite the historical context, the director focuses on the threads of the mystery of human fate and the problem of transience, creating an insightful psychological portrait of the protagonist - a lonely, lost man, not reconciled with the time in which he lives.

Night on Earth
In Night on Earth, Jarmusch presents five stories that take place simultaneously in different time zones, on different continents and in countries whose inhabitants speak different languages. Each episode is filled with a night taxi ride. During this journey, an interest, a kind of bond, develops between the taxi driver and his passengers, which is however definitively broken when the passengers leave the taxi. The film begins in Los Angeles at the moment when day gives way to night. Then, together with the characters, we wander through the New York, Parisian and Roman nights. The end of the film is also the end of a winter night in Helsinki. We travel - for real and in our imagination - to achieve what is essentially impossible - to be in several places at once, to overcome time.

Dead Man
"The Dead Man" is the story of a young man, a story of a spiritual and physical escape through an unknown land. It is the second half of the nineteenth century. William Blake is heading towards the farthest outpost on the eastern border. Lost and badly injured, he meets a strange, outlaw Indian named Nobody, who, due to the similarity of their names, is convinced that he has met one of the dead members of the British Dead Poets Society. Time passes, and with the help of the Indian, Blaky experiences moments of joy and violence. Against his own nature, circumstances turn him into a hunted outlaw, into a murderer, into a man whose physical shell slowly ceases to exist. Thrust between the horrors and chaos of the reality surrounding him, he observes with wide open eyes the fragility that defines the scope of existence. It is as if, after breaking through a pane of glass, he emerges on the other side and sees a completely different, unknown, unreal world.

Coffee & Cigarettes
This, Jarmusch's most famous film, made in a rush over a dozen years, has imagination, lightness and humor. Comedic, black-and-white scenes last exactly as long as it takes to pop out for a smoke or drink a cup of black brew. "We are the generation of coffee and cigarettes," says Tom Waits in one of the scenes, and today, when cigarettes can no longer meet at the coffee table, this declaration unexpectedly tastes of nostalgia.
