On the brink of the end of the world, Marty and Felicia try to rebuild their relationship and discover the identity of the mysterious Chuck Krantz, whose smiling face they see on ubiquitous billboards. Is his fate somehow intertwined with theirs, and what connection does it have to the impending catastrophe?
We experience Chuck's story from the end, as, facing the inevitable, he searches his memory for the moments and events that gave his life true meaning. These are things familiar to each of us, the simplest, some might say even banal, yet the most wonderful. The love of loved ones, youthful dreams, moments of wild fun, friendships, passions, and small victories achieved in the daily struggle against fate. Each of us has our own little universe, lasting as long as our own lives, but its reflections persist in the universes of others.
