Qiaoqiao (Tao Zhao) tries to make a living as a model, dancer, and singer in nightclubs and shopping malls. In one of these places, she comes into contact with a cynical music promoter, Bin (Zhubin Li), almost immediately falling into an unhappily oppressive relationship. When she receives word from him that he is leaving town to try his luck elsewhere, armed with a stun gun, Qiao sets off on a journey, including a long, spectacular journey up the Yangtze River, to find her former lover.
