At night, in an abandoned cemetery, soldiers dig up a grave. The exhumed corpse comes to life. In his clenched hand, the man holds a rolled-up roll of parchment - a diary for which a secret exhumation was allowed. Robert's reanimated corpse begins the story of his life: born of sin, of extramarital love, he hated his older brother, fathered in a legal marriage. The two young men are raised next door, but in two different environments. The older brother appreciates the joys of earthly life, Robert delves into the analysis of sin, struggling with hidden desires, which Satan, taking the form of the Stranger, uses in his manipulations...
