The year is 1952. Niki de Saint Phalle (played by Charlotte Le Bon) and her husband and two-year-old daughter move from the United States, gripped by the terror of McCarthyism, to the European capital of art - Paris. The woman, who has aristocratic roots, has much greater artistic aspirations than just being a beauty on the covers of "Vogue", where she appeared as a model. The distance that separates her from her family home initially brings the woman solace. However, the demons of the past quickly catch up with Niki in France, and a series of disturbing flashbacks from childhood allow us to understand the trauma she is dealing with. Her art becomes a safe ground, but also a way to express herself for the heroine. It also allows Niki to fight for independence in the world of social conventions and pre-assigned roles.
