Meet Carey, a nice guy on the verge of a nervous breakdown. He's just suffered the worst blow of his life – his beloved wife, Ashley, has filed for divorce. Lying on the floor, Carey must quickly find a way to put his life back together. Hoping for some good advice, he visits his friends, Julie and Paul, who have been in a happy, open relationship for years. And then comes the epiphany: if Ashley no longer wants him, and Paul and Julie aren't faithful, why look far for solace when you can find it in the arms of the beautiful… Julie? The plan seems perfect, and everything is going perfectly smoothly until an emotional bombshell detonates. Paul goes berserk when he discovers his beautiful wife is having a great time with his best friend. Meanwhile, Carey still can't get over Ashley, who's unscrupulously enjoying her newfound freedom. All four of their lives will descend into chaos if they don't finally discover what love is really about.
