The film consists of three seemingly separate film novellas connected - but not exclusively - by the actors returning in new incarnations. A manager stripped of his dignity tries to break free from blind corporate obedience to his boss, a policeman's wife - a biologist who survived the disaster - wants to rebuild her relationship with her husband who questions her return, and a member of a cult is tasked with finding a person with the power to resurrect the dead. The latest film by Yorgos Lanthimos, filled with humor and absurdity, can be read on many levels - one of them is human helplessness in the face of chance and fate.
