This screen adaptation of the musical by Richard O'Brien, who also co-wrote and stars as Riff Raff, and is directed by Jim Sherman, follows the adventures of newly engaged couple Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon). After their car gets a flat tire during a heavy downpour, Brad and Janet head to a spooky castle for help. Things take an unexpected turn when they encounter the castle's owner, transgender scientist Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry). The mad scientist not only holds a group of aliens hostage in the castle but also conducts near-death experiments there. Brad and Janet enter a world of debauchery and unwittingly witness shocking crimes. This hilarious camp masterpiece is filled with musical numbers and spine-chilling scenes that will keep the viewer on the edge of their seats from the very first scene.
