"Rave" tells the story of the development of techno music and rave culture in Poland from two perspectives: historical and contemporary. It talks about the close connection of this music with the history of the Polish transformation of the 90s, expressing the spirit of change on many levels, as well as about its most important environments from different social classes: Łódź techno and the Ekwador club in Manieczki. However, the history of music and culture of those years is shown from the perspective of its children - generation Z. Among these young people there is an unceasing fascination and fashion for the 90s, but also a critical awareness of the naivety and utopianism of the first techno generation in Poland. Our guide through this world is Marcello Zamenhoff, a performer and one of the pioneers of rave culture from over 30 years ago, and two young rave enthusiasts: Marysia and Janusz. This is a unique project on a national scale that goes beyond the frames of the film. The creators say that it is a "creative document" preceded by many years of documentary work and cooperation with the characters. The creators gathered around themselves the techno community and engaged creators of this music and culture from the 90s to the present, both theoreticians and practitioners.
