During a plane trip, actress Felicja recalls the times of World War II. In love with her colleague from the theater, Wiktor Rawicz, she hid him for almost the entire occupation, because he was under sentence of death due to suspicion of murdering Volksdeutscher Peters. To save her beloved, Felicja endures numerous humiliations, violence, rape. However, she counts on Rawicz to reciprocate her feelings. When the war ends, the heroine experiences more dramatic disappointments.
