A slightly crazy but very stylish travel film. In 1917, Edward, a British Empire official in Rangoon, Burma, makes the most cowardly decision of his life and runs away from Molly, his fiancée, who has come from London to marry him. Molly follows him, setting off on a grand tour of Asia. The director complements the visually sophisticated, black-and-white story with witty voice-over commentary in multiple Asian languages with contemporary, almost documentary-style scenes and images.
